First on behalf of all members of the Mol Forum, welcome and always know
that we will help in anyway possible to get you and your mother through this
thing we call cancering Researching is a positive step in the right
direction, the more information you have, the better informed, the better the
decisions. It is important that cancering patients rid themselves of all
toxic, to include family or friends who canonot have a positive outlook.
It is important that cancering people build up their immune system and you will
hear these same things over and over from all of us. There is a new drug
called Taxel that I am not sure yet if it has been approved by the FDA yet, this
drug has far fewer side effects than tomoxifin and works as equaly as well if
not better than tomoxifin. I will also send you a paper that one of our
MOL members sent out concerning a drug for breast cancer. I don't know
what area your mother lives; but MD Anderson Hos. in Houston and Sloan Kettering
in NY are considered the best and have many various trials going on. If
you go to their sites you can find out about their trials. Did you go to
the cancer links while you were on Medicine On Line? This will access you
to archives and help you also. God bless the two of you and I know your
mother must be proud of her son, for helping her so much in time of need.
Your friend, Lillian
>Dear
Lillian, > >Thank you so much for replying to my message so
promptly. I know I will definitely be coming back to your bulletin board
again and again becasue it is so informative. Yesterday was my first time
there. My mother has been on Tomoxifin for 2 years and my next question is
are there any alternatives in using another drug that has less side
effects. And because of her eyes frequently becoming blood shot are there
any medications that can stop that. Her opthamologist has told her the
reddness is caused by allergies and has just prescribed eye drops. But it sounds
like it is being caused by the drug Tomoxifin after reading about other ladies
having blood vessels burst in the eyes. > >Thank you Very Very
Much! >Andrew > >
