Dear Wally,
A good source for information is the National Cancer Institute. You can
contact them by telephone at 1-800-4CANCER and discuss you Dad's case
with a representative who will provide information on various treatment
options. You can also visit their site at http://rex.nci.nih.gov
Some other sites that might provide helpful information are:
Cancer Notes On The Net at http://www.cancernews.com
Medicine On Line at http://www.meds.com
The Univ. of Penn. at http://cancer.med.upenn.edu
And the NCCS Guide to Cancer Resources at
http://www.access.digex.net/~mkragen/non-java.html
Aside from attempting to help people with information and were to go for
technical help, this site provides perhaps the most important thing and
that is support to those fighting cancer and those who care for them.
You see, we are all either cancer survivors like me or care givers like
you. In either case, we can't fight this disease alone. We all need the
love and encouragement, laughter and caring that is available here. You
will meet some really great and courageous people here that want to help
in any way they can. So, know that you are not alone in caring for your
Dad and keep in touch with us all here to let us know how you and he are
doing, if there is anything we can do to help, and to get your spirit
refreshed.
God Bless you both, you will be in my prayers.
