Ouch! I have always thought of "pill" as an endearing term when used for a
person. And I have always used it that way. Something made me look it up in
the dictionary and voila! the definition given is "tiresome", which is
definitely not what I meant. When I think of the people I must have offended
over the years! Though I haven't used it that often. I thought "a perfect
pill" meant someone who was cute and cuddly. Maybe thought transference made
me think about the note I sent a few minutes ago and made me wonder about the
word "pill". Oh goodness, and to think I basically had my career in words and
their meanings! I even looked up "pill" in the Oxford English English
dictionary, thinking I must have got the idea from my youth in England. Nope.
It's not there either.
Forgive me, you couple of angels. I think I need a pill.
