Betty,
You may want to look into the possibility of monoclonal antibodies. I have
a friend who is getting this therapy for earlier stage colon cancer that was
completely removed by surgery. It is very experimental but has no side
effects. They infuse the antibodies (which come from mice!!) by IV. I don't
know if it's appropriate for later stage disease, or whether it's available
generally. They got if from a German chemical company on a "compassionate
use" basis, but it is being used somewhere in this country for clinical
trials.They got the suggestion from an oncologiist at UC San Francisco..you
may want to have your doctor do a Medline search for it...hope this helps..
