[MOL] Re Add'l tests... Hey Lillian

Lillian, I hate to tell you this, but I honestly don't have an answer for
you on why the MRI, except in search of a tumor. The bone scan consisted of
an injection of radioactive goop and then I had a whole body scan done. As
I understand it the injected material goes to areas whereby there are or
have been breaks, arthritis, cancer. I don't believe that is the same as a
bone density.

I think it is great that you carry around a folder of all you have had done.
I started out thinking that I could remember everything, and then I got
copies of some of the things that I needed and then as I go to doctors I end
up giving them my copies. So I will have to build a complete folder that
stays with me. I am sorry that you suffered at the had of a doctor. I am
sure that makes it harder for you to believe and trust in your medical team
without alot of careful review.

You know how important it is to trust in your doctors and all that is being
done to you. Thats why I went to see 3 oncologists. I believed in my
surgeon, who believed in PET scans and the first two onc's didn't. I
couldn't figure out how to buy into those onc's when they didn't agree with
the doctor I trusted, so I went to a third and I am happy there, even though
we haven't agreed on treatment yet! LOL!

I am more afraid of the fact that we don't have really good tests that we
can rely on and a standard for all the tests that are out there. The first
two onc's just wanted to do exrays every 3 months and let me go. This one
is doing tests that no one ever discussed doing with me to further define
where I am. By researching I am learning that the actual staging can vary
from what the surgical, pathological staging was set as and some of these
tests will fine tune that.

I am ok waiting until Friday at this point, as I really want to review them
with him face to face and I want to schedule to see the films. I still
haven't seen where my one lung is and where it has moved my heart! Some
days I think I am sitting on it! LOL!

I am having trouble with fluid in my chest... I gurggle like a 150 lb.
aquarium! It feels like a lava lamp too! Also something with my heart is
strange, but I will address all that Friday with him. I hope he didn't
schedule me for a short appointment... LOL!

I found a clinical trial for a cancer vaccine that I may have a chance of
getting into, but will also need some more testing (if possible), and I
believe I still have the bone marrow test to be scheduled. I will write
down the name of what they look for there, as I forgot since the last
appointment.

I don't know if I helped you at all with your question Lillian, but please
let me know. My prayers are with you and you with them. God Bless you.
Carla
