Bob, you bring up some very interesting points as to paying a team of
students to research. I had to reply to this when I realized you were also
mentioning NCI and a potential grant of sorts. I just received two mailings
from NCI about lung cancer; including the research being done on it. Much
to my dismay I found that all the of the information they sent me was
originally printed in 1993. Now this I really have a problem with. I work
hard every single day trying to see what is happening out there and trying
very hard to keep up, I cannot believe that they are sending out 5 year old
information. One of them was actually even dated Feb. 1993! I would be
ashamed to send any research information out that old and I would have to
believe that if they put a month on one of them they might have been
planning a more recent update? I just had a PET scan done and needless to
say it is not listed anywhere as an option.
I don't want to be angry, but I do feel that this is something to try to do
something about. I don't want 5 year old research information! They were
really nice to deal with to obtain the information and the PDQ information,
but something needs to be done.......Thanks for listening... Carla...
