My father, a 67 year "young" man has been diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the
lung. He has been put on a very agressive platinal chemo treatment. This has
resulted in blood clots to his lungs, which almost killed him last week. A
miracle drug TPA by Genetec cleared the lungs very quickly and we are told
that this is the first time at this hospital that TPA has been used for lungs.
While his doctor is not easy to pin down with the exact diagnosis, I believe
it to be between 2nd and 3rd stage. It is believed to only be in one lung
with some lymph involvement.
Does anyone know of any other treatments or trials available for this disease.
I would appreciate any input since I know his survival chances are almost non-
existent.
Thanks, John C.
