[MOL] About FHIT Gene For Breast Cancer

Good Morning,

Thought you would like to know the following information.

FHIT gene not involved in pathogenesis of breast cancer

WESTPORT, Dec 28 (Reuters Health) - The fragile histidine triad
(FHIT) gene does not appear to be involved in breast
tumorigenesis. French investigators in St-Cloud studied FHIT
transcripts in both normal and malignant breast tissue after they
found discrepant reports in the medical literature on the
involvement of the FHIT gene in human cancers. The discrepant
findings arose because of different PCR strategies used to
examine tissue specimens.
