Infertility a risk factor for borderline ovarian cancer
WESTPORT, Dec 07 (Reuters Health) - Infertility, but not the use
of infertility drugs, is associated with an increased risk of
ovarian cystadenomas of borderline malignancy cancer, according
to researchers in Denmark. Dr. Berit Jul Mosgaard and
colleagues at the University of Copenhagen examined potential
risk factors for borderline ovarian cancer in a case-control
study of 231 women diagnosed with the disorder and 1,721
population controls. They define borderline tumors as those with
"...an atypical proliferation without destructive invasion of the
stromal component."
