[MOL] Frank & Christine

Hi Frank and Christine
Let me add my welcome. I don't post very often as I work a lot of hours and
find myself with no time and no energy when I get home at night.

I came from one of those small towns where everybody knows each other. In
fact I spread my growing up years between two of them, Bellevue, ID and
Carey ID. When I was there the town had 250 water hookups. (My dad was on
the city council and he discussed population in different terms than most.)
Before he died the town had grown to over 1000 water hook-ups. The growth
is due to the overflow from Sun Valley. Bellevue is only 17 miles from
there. Carey is even smaller than Bellevue was when I was growing up there,
and almost everyone was related to the three major family names in the
area. Now you talk about a town where everyone knows you and knows your
business. Carey was unsurpassed in that characteristic.

I left that area and moved to the "Big City" of Yakima, WA (100,000 +
metropolitan area) because the winters are milder but it still has a fairly
small town feel--the traffic is bearable and people are quite friendly. You
cannot, however just leave your doors unlocked, at least not anymore.
