[MOL] Jim...

Jim, my name is Carla and I am a one year Non-small cell lung cancer
survivor... You notice that I say survivor, not patient or any other such
term... That is because I have found this cancering journey to be a
blessing. I, like all others on this cancer forum, have learned to live
with death and my own mortality on my shoulder and once you have learned to
do that.. each day becomes one of wonder.

My faith in God has grown much stronger, because I know that I will not
leave this planet until God is ready to call me home and I know that He is
here to help and guide me through all that He wants me to experience on the
cancering journey... For me it is a new journey of life.. As well, that
leaves me with the comfort that when it is time for me to join God, it will
be a wonderful destination where there will be no more pain, nor fear of the
unknown...

Dee has told us that you are going through a very difficult time with the
treatment right now.. Please take charge of your treatment and make sure
that you are very open with your doctors.. No one can possibly know your
body and its reaction to the treatment better than you... Your body is a
miracle of life and it will talk with you if you will listen.... Now for
the doctors.. make sure you have one that understands that it is not his/her
body, but yours... Doctors can help the cancering journey, or defeat it
with their attitude.. Make sure that yours helps..

You also notice that I have said cancering journey... Well, I have most of
my ideas from the very first book that I read by Greg Anderson, "50
Essential Things to Do When the Doctor says it is Cancer".. Greg explains
in a very straightforward manner that we have begun a new path and it is one
that we need to embrace and move forward on, we can't go backwards... It is
in paperback and is about $9.95 and is extremely easy to read... I would
hope that you would start to read some of the books that encourage all of us
to live... Bernie Siegal has many wonderful books too..

I hope that in some small way, I have been able to reach out through the
internet and touch a spark in your heart... Ignite that spark everyday Jim
and in doing that you will have experienced the cancering journey and will
find that each day of survival holds some very special blessings.. God
Bless you and May God light your path with comfort and blessings.. Carla
