It is possible that it is just an infection, in fact it is probable that is
the problem. However, there is a possibility that it could be a form of
leukaemia. I think the best thing (however hard) is to wait for the results
of the next test. In all forms of leukaemia it is important to get the
diagnosis and the exact type right before treatment is begun. The wait for
test results does not usually affect the outcomes.
