Carolyn: It's terribly important that you all be positive and upbeat when you're around your friend! I have a lung cancer (or HAD lung cancer). Right now, I'm in remission, or considered cancer free. It could come back someday, but it may not, too, and right now I feel wonderful. There is no GOOD place to have cancer, honey, but a positive and cheerful attitude can work wonders in the healing process. People are getting better every day. Our friend, Marty Auslander, will help you, I'm sure. But please don't hang around your friend with long faces. Let her know you care and that you're rooting for her! Give her the thumbs up! This works -- I know, because it did for me. -- Kathy in Bosie

Hi. I am 12 years old and my best friend was just diagnosed with hodgkins
about two weeks ago.The hodgkins has spread to her lungs. My other friend told
me this was the worst possible place where you could get the disease, is this
true? I also wanted to know what to do to help her and what i can expect will
happen to her. If you
have anything to tell me please do.
I you could write me back it would be really great, it would mean the world
to me. I am really worried about my friend who was recently diagnosed and
wether she will live or not. Here is some info about her case, at first she
thought she just had a muscule strain in her groin. She and her mom went to
the doctor about it and she told me they thought she had a chipped bone and
needed a catskan. This seemed percuiler to me so she might have just be trying
to cover up that the doctors thought she had cancer, but i could be wrong. She
then had to go have surgery in her leg to get the infection out of her bone.
She was gone from school for three weeks and then we were told she was
diagnosed with hodgkins and that it was spreading in her lung.
This has caused so much deppresion in my seventh grade class. All of the
girls including me especially have been crying and feeling deppressed. She
will be coming back to school on tueday and the teacher who is like
everybody's mom told us to be very positive and up beat. All of us would
apprechiate any information that you have. Thank you so much. My e-mail adress
is Cascare@aol.com. Thank you.
Sincerely Yours,
Carolyn
