Lil, An internist is
different from an endocrinologist right? they have a good endo guy
that they like and respect (he will be back tonight)...they don't have an
internist as far as I know. ( I would suspect that if the endocrinologist is
so good, she would not be in this position and that he was under medicating
her adrenal and thryroid)
.They
put her on xanax because the Ativan made her so goofy...does xanax do the
same thing for swelling that ativan does? ( This I do not know and I am
still not on the web to check for you, sorry!) She is
still on Potassium Chloride because of the embalance of the electrolytes.
(that's fine she needs to gett all the potassium she can and to be checked
that the potassium is not leaving her systerm, mine tends not to hang around
in the system as should)She is not getting any iv
"food/nutrition".
She
is now eating on her own. I just got off the phone and Michael said
she ate all her breakfast. She sounded much more coherent too. I
am hoping that since they are getting the steroids back in line and the
electrolytes balanced that things are on an upswing and if we can get her
eating regularly and walking that we will have a chance. (The iv
supplemental feeding is faster and more concentrated that table food like
spegetti!)
Results
of the CT scan should be forthcoming. (We are all waiting not so patiently
for this result.)
Lil,
you are always such an inspiration to me. I count on you. (There's
just some things I do know about and other I equaly don't know about; but
having been through this mess and know what the outcome can be I can't speak
strongly enough on her getting quality care.) love you,

1.Lizabeth
should be getting a feeding solution through an IV.2.One is tapered off of steroids; however
Lizabeth needs to be on a high dossage of steriods right now, again
through iv.3.Ativan is given to reduce swelling
also; so she needs some of this.4. I again
urge she get a good internist on her team, remember it was the internist
that saved my life. The internist will monitor all drugs; so that
there will not be an inneraction to drugs; which often
happens.I urge you to get these messages accross to
the doctors........love you lillian
