Re: [MOL] my father/Advice

The one thing I can definitely tell you is that it is not good to act like
nothing is going on... You must all be willing and able to "deal with it".
As you have already stated.. it is eating him up with worry and you too and
I don't doubt your mother after so many years of marriage..

One book I can highly recommend is by Greg Anderson " 50 Essential Things To
Do When the Doctor Says It Is Cancer". It is in paperback and touches on so
many of the areas that people on the cancer journey might be wondering
about... I would suggest that you all read it. Then it would be really
good to see if there is a support group or a wellness center in your area..
If there is a Wellness Center then there are groups for both the person on
the cancering journey and also for their loved ones..

No matter what your preferences are.. you cannot run away from this
diagnosis and you certainly cannot reduce your life with your father to one
of mute silence. This is a time when you all can grow closer together than
you have ever been and good things to cherish... So work at it and work
with him to help him release his feelings and talk about what he is going
through.. It will be healing for him and you... God Bless you and guide
you.. Carla
