Had to wait for my brother to fix the computer AGAIN! He thinks the problem is in the phone lines since we don't have fiber optic lines here yet. We may be getting them next year out here. When we got the phone when I was a kid, the phone com. made my dad put in the trench himself before they would even lay the cable!! That was from the nearest intersection at three miles away (he spent a lot of time on the dozer)!
Had ankle surgery on Tuesday since I last spoke to you guys. Went pretty good - now have two screws in my ankle. I'll get a walking cast in a couple of weeks if all goes well; crutches bound until then. A bit of an inconvenience right before winter but have been fortunate until now! Even kept the horse and will be riding as soon as I get that walking cast!! Turns out the doctor here in little ole Douglas is the best in the state. Just moved here from CA last year. Was the race track doctor out at Hollywood Park and worked on several jockeys that I know!
Dad had another chemo today. Still feeling fine. His doctor is optimistic that since his blood count and liver(?) stuff have remained constant, he has a good chance to kick this crap out of his body. The liver is still functioning at full speed even with cancer all over it. I told you he was a healthy type of fellow!
Everyone else is fine too. My mom, brother and now my boyfriend (who has been dude wrangling all summer at a ranch in Jackson, WY) are all here so the five of us can keep putting wood in the stove for the winter!!! Still have a few hay deliveries to make to OK before winter but have to wait for my driving foot (accelerator, anyway) to recover a bit of mobility.
Will cut this short now. How is everyone else doing? I see that Les and the gang are up to their usual mischiefs! How are things going with you, LIL? Reinform me, everybody! Gives my brother and mom something to bark about when they see all these messages and most are for me!! (They read them too, just don't admit it)!later...pam
