[MOL] AML info-survivors????

My 68 year-old stepdad was diagnosed with AML 6 months ago. The Doctors
said he had it in 80% of his bone marrow. After his third chemo-and
numerous bone marrow checks, it was said to be in remission.
That lasted for one month. His white cell count dropped, and three doses
of platelets were given. he is now undergoing his fouth chemo, with 30%
found in his bone marrow. Iíve been trying to find out if anyone in my
step-dads age bracket has survived AML, treatment free and lived without
additional treatments. Any information, references, etc. would be
greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
