There is a vaccine in phase III trials right now called BEC2. It
has tested favorably in phase II trials. However, it will not
be available until 2002, as far as I know. It is being
tested only on limited stage small cell cancer at this point.
The trial is a randomized one where 5 shots of the vaccine are
administered to the experimental group following standard therapy.
However, the participants must have a complete response from the
standard
therapy (chemo and concurrent radiation) in order to qualifiy for
the vaccine.
