Re: [MOL] Jean - colonoscopy

Hi Joicy,
I'll be thinking of you! I don't yet know when I have to go in for the
actual procedure. I have an appt. w/the doctor tomorrow to discuss which
procedure would be best for me, but I suspect he's going to suggest the
colonoscopy since my dad's sister had colon cancer, my dad's grandmother
had stomach cancer, and my dad's younger brother had prostrate cancer -
so there's some cancer in our family (more than I'd ever realized
before!). On my mom's side, I think only her cousin had cancer
(double-masectomy) - this is the cousin who I'm helping w/our genealogy
right now. She is *really* nice, but she isn't on-line - so I make the
computer connections on our Wilson/Sawyer/Hubbard/Whitehurst line and she
does the *real* genealogy work in long-hand (no computer either). She
lives in Florida, so I haven't had a chance to visit her in years since I
live in Virginia. And she's in northern FL (Jacksonville) whereas Mom is
in southern FL (Ft. Myers).

Anyway, I wrote to my dad's cousin (?) Mary Dudley (forgot her married
name) for the list she's keeping of family diseases, etc. Dad's family
has done a tremendous amount of genealogical research on their Dudley of
VA line, descended from Beverley, Williams, Buckley, etc.

Well, got to go. Tom's getting ready to take the kids up to bed and I
have some laundry to switch over. *Fun, fun, fun!* I have to say,
though, that running into that woman tonight reminded me to be grateful
for my mobility and a healthy body. Counting my blessings here.
Love,
Jean
P.S. Amazing how that lady could seem so nice yet her daughters were so
mean in high school. Her eldest daughter used to pull my hair whenever
she sat behind me on the bus. Not so great, I know, to hold onto
resentments that long, but.... At least I don't appear on national t.v.
and confront them. LOL
