Dear moireguy2,

I wish I could convince you at this stage of your emotional needs that
many have been diagnosed with a disease where medical community related
short time prognosis and yet are with us today many years after their
prognosis. There are many, many miracle stories and seem to become more
and more with the advent of so many marvelous conventional and
alternative treatments as well as the progress of oncologists and
psychotherpists as they discover their statistics and theories are not
based on fact, but lack of confidence in the ability of the human being
to have the will to want to live many years. The following is a short
list and hopefully one that is not too overwhelming for you to start you
research and begin your program to wellness. I would suggest you begin
with a support team of relatives, neighbors, friends to help you with
the research and phone calls and buying of the various books that will
help you find means to overcome your disease both by conventional means
and alternative methods. I am a firm believer that in combination and
with a good solid program built on the foundation of both these methods
that one survives for much more than the medical community gives us
human beings credit for.

I'd like to recommend the
very well-known Bernie Siegel's "Love, Medicine and Miracles", of
course. Also "50 Essential Things To Do When The Doctor Says It's
Cancer" by Greg Anderson, a long-term lung cancer survivor. Both books
discuss the similar personalities or principles that cancer survivors
have in common.

One belief I found particularly true from "50 Essential Things" is:
"The most basic belief is that cancer does not equate with death.
...Yet the majority of survivors are not "be positive-against-all
evidence" sort of people. ...That's denial. Instead, survivors recognize
the truth - that their cancer may or may not mean death. ...Survivors
believe, "Yes, I may die. But I also may live. And I am going to
invest my time, whatever its length, in living the best way I know
How." Even those with the worst prognosis choose this belief first. ...
They believe their personal involvement is absolutely essential to the
recovery process. Survivors believe wellness is not accident, that it
takes work... For the moment, getting well takes precedence over
everything."

Phone Numbers to contact for second opinions and information abaout your
disease and plan to proceed to recover are:

And finally, moireguy here is something to remember: Pls read to
yourself over and over until you believe it:

>From time to time it is a good reminder to us, that experience the
cancer or major disease effects, to read these commandments so that it
re-energizes our convictions and determination that cancer is a
degenerative disease and that all degenerative diseases can be
reversible. The affirmation of our determination, will and positive
energy may be the key to our becoming well and staying well, at least
that was for us. I hope these commandments bring similar positive
energies to you as it did and does for us.

1 - I SHALL MAINTAIN POSITIVE EMOTIONS

Emotions profoundly influence physiology. Pleasant, calm
emotions
impact the body positively and promote health and healing. Distressing
emotions influence the body in a detrimental way. Emotions can be
changed from distressing to comforting. It takes a desire to feel
better, the right method, and some personal work.

2 - I SHALL MAINTAIN HOPE

Hope is the belief that something desirable can be obtained, no
matter
how unlikely this outcome may appear. Keeping hope is of prime
importance in fighting a serious illness. Hope can be created and
maintained even in the face of apparently unfavorable odds.

3- I SHALL CULTIVATE THE WILL TO LIVE

The will to live is of primary importance in getting well.
Defining a
purpose in life, no matter how humble, stimulates the will to live and
strengthens the cancer fighter. Anyone can learn to create a stronger
will to live.

4 - I SHALL CREATE AND MAINTAIN A HEALTHY BELIEF SYSTEM

Beliefs, attitudes and expectations shape the experience and the
reality of a person in ways that are powerful and astounding. Beliefs
need to be examined and improved upon as necessary to get well.

5 - I SHALL REMAIN PAIN-FREE AND COMFORTABLE

Pain is a perception of the mind. Physical stimuli may trigger
it, and
the survivors emotional state can significantly amplify or reduce it.
Learning to control discomfort is helpful and is attainable.

God Bless You
