I am a breast cancer survivor, was placed on tomoxifin with severe side
effects. The mennenges around the brain swelled. After being taken off the
harmone therapy, I landed in the hospital with a dead thyroid and severe
adrenial gland damage. I never had a thyroid problem before this. I now
must take steroids, predasone, blood preassure meds. and more for the rest
of my life.
I went to the Doctor today, because I had come down with a second cold in
less than a month. I asked if I was a canadate for the flu shot. He told
me no flu shot for me, that predasone causes the Immunity system to decrease
and I need to stay away from sick people. My question is this: Is Immune
therapy for cancer suvivors something I should be on, is this just vitamins
or what? If my immunity is down won't this increase my risk for possiblly
more cancer?
The side effects to the drug are pulling me down, not the cancer. Please
help. Thank you. Have a good Christmas!
