Dear Peter,
I applaud both your courage and the optimistic view that you are facing
this situation with. It is such an important part of recovery. Also
your faith in God will never let you down. I had surgery resulting in
the loss of my nose and upper jaw...not nearly the same as giving up
one's sight. I also lost the use of my left arm as a result of surgical
scaring. I am saying this because I want you to be reassured that I
gladly gave these up for a chance at being there as my children grow and
the opportunity to help others going through similar battles.
It seems that you have good physicians who you both have confidence in, a
God that supports you, and an outlook that brings light and hope into
your lives. You have all the elements of successful suvivorship in your
fight. I can offer only my encouragement and prayers. Please don't
linger in the background but let us all know how you are doing and if
there is anything we can help with...there is a world of help and
strength to be had here and you can play a significant role in
contributing.
God Bless you both,
John Lehner
