Diana & John -
I guess my only point is that, in our experience, the "leading" or "best"
"cancer hospitals" are not necessarily "leading" or "best" in all types of
cancer. For example, there are only approximately 5-6 treating physicians
in the entire country for Mesothelioma. Only one of those two hospitals had
a thoracic surgeon on staff that had any experience with the Tri-modal
protocol. I didn't really intend to start a major debate; I only learned
through our experience that you need to research to see if "your" particular
type of cancer is one that those "leading" hospitals specialize in. I guess
our experience may be somewhat different, in that it is a very rare form of
cancer.
