I hesitate to say that the oncologist is lying to you, but there
does seem to be something going on. I would not hesitate to get a second
opinion on the results of the tests. Barb should look to this as getting to
the bottom of what's going on here. You need to be armed with the facts,
not to have the results sugar-coated so that you both won't "feel bad". The
worst thing is to go into a battle blind. And that's really what this is, a
battle. I realized long ago that the more knowledge you have, the more
conforting, really, because there is less that can sneak up on you (like
this last series of test results).
A second opinion is definitely in order and the best of luck with
everything.
