My mother had perhaps a similar type of procedure done within one of her
eyes, when the doctor removed her eyeball and placed within the eye socket, a
radioactive chip, then replaced the eye, to again remove the eye, to take out
the chip about one week later. Because of the radioactive nature of the chip,
it was advised that my father not get too close to the front of my mother...I
can't remember exactly all the info on this process. It was an odd and scary
surgery.
