Dear June:
I saw your message on mol-cancer and agree with the other two
respondents...don't wait because cancer certainly will not. It sounds
like you are dealing with other than oncologists and at a local community
hospital. I don't know where you live, but it is important that you seek
opinions from an oncologist at a major teaching hospital. Some sites you
can go to for information are as follows:
For some general information...
Cancer Notes on the Net http://www.cancernews.com
National Cancer Institute Info http://rex.nci.nih.gov
National Cancer Institute Homepage http://www.nci.nih.gov
Medicine on Line http://www.meds.com
Guide to Cancer Resources
http://www.access.digex.net/~mkragen/non-java.html
When I got my cancer, I also contacted the National Cancer Institute by
telephone at 1-800-4CANCER. A representative was able to help me with
information about my cancer, various clinical trials available and what
the standard treatments were. I also contacted two of the beast cancer
hospitals in the US:
M D Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas at
http://www.mdanderson.org and
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City at
http://www.mskcc.org
To subscribe to this list simply follow the instructions at

Please keep in mind that cancer is not the death sentence it once was.
New treatments and early detection have contributed to cancer
survivorship. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. In
return, please, both of you, keep a positive outlook and never give up
faith and hope. If you get anything out of this website it will be the
love and support of both cancer survivors like your husband and me and
care givers like you and my wife.
Stay in touch (lehnerj1@ix.netcom.com), good luck and God Bless.
John Lehner
