I encountered communication to/from your site in searching for info
regarding stomach cancer. My husband had renal cell carcinoma almost 9
years ago, had a kidney removed at that time, and we thought had been
clean since. A stomach tumor was recently discovered, although it
apparently has "been there" for several years at least ... simply went
unnoticed in follow-up care. The stomach tumor was removed several
weeks ago, and pathology was inconclusive. We have been told that the
cells were "abnormal" but cannot conclusively be identified as benign or
malignant. One doctor leans toward malignant, suggests that we should
consider removal of the tumor a biopsy with surgery to remove the cancer
yet to be done; and the other doctor leans toward benign, suggesting
that we wait and see if the tumor comes back before we do anything.
Both doctors agree that the renal cell carcinoma and this undiagnosed
"thing" do not seem related. My husband has chosen not to have
additional surgery, but to wait and watch. I am concerned that John has
now had 2 unrelated tumors growing for some time and found accidently
that there might be other growths elsewhere that we just don't know
about. When I asked whether additional tests of any kind could be done
to help clarify whether this tumor was malignant or not and/or if there
are any other tumors growing unnoticed, I was basically told that since
there is no family history of cancer and no pattern to the growths, they
can't do any other tests because they don't know what they're looking
for.
Since I happened across your site, I thought I would find out if you are
a subscriber list and, if so, how to subscribe. Also, do you have any
thoughts concerning my husband's circumstances and/or ideas about other
sites we might access?
Thanks in advance for your help.
