I,m sorry I haven't had a chance to get back to you. I have
been out of the office for a few days, not feeling up to par.
I don't really have any advise for you in regards to your hip.
Although I was told at one time that they thought I had
"snapping hip syndrome" which is uncommon but does occur
predominately in dancers. I did have these symptoms (the
muscle snaps over the front of the bone as it moves during
walking etc.) and I had the recommended treatment for this
which was to sever the muscle. The way they diagnosed
this was through arthroscopy (sp?). I guess the bottom line
is, if your in pain have it checked...I don't know if "snapping"
is something to be worried about or not, I don't think it is
quite the same as finding a lump in the breast, you know, a
real obvious thing you "should" have looked at
immediately......sorry, I can't tell you more.
They found the problem with my hip only after they had done
the recommended treatment for "snapping hip" and it didn't
stop the snapping in the joint or the pain....that's when they
knew that there was more going on that had perhaps been
masked by this other condition.
Hope this helps a little. If your concerned, talk to an
orthopedic!!! It can't hurt to find out that there is nothing to
worry about!!!!! :)
