RE: [MOL] adenocarcinoma

Diana,
I also have nsclc, and was wondering what chemo you have taken. I
just finished 6 treatments of taxol/carboplatin, and after a 6 week
break will have a CAT scan the end of this month.

For awhile I was feeling really good with the chemo, but have been
feeling worse again the past few weeks. I'm not sure if it is cancer
symptoms again, or problems with fall allergies, or a combination of
both.

What treatment has been successful for you? I don't want to subscribe
to the wait until it comes back theory of treatment.

My email address is ronda@rdgroup.com.

Dr. SImpson

I would say it is very worth while to start chemo asap. Check and see
if
Taxotere has been approved in Scotland for NSCLC. Memorial Sloan
Kettering
has had great success in trials with Taxotere, probably in combination
with
another chemo, such as Cisplatin or Navelbine. Call NCI and get as
much
info as you can before your trip.
Have they completed all tests? MRI, bone scans, body scans, etc??
Different cancer cells react differently to chemos. What works for
one
person doesn't work for another. There is newish test in states
where
they take biopsy, send to lab and have tested with several different
chemos
and chemo combination. I'v read reports that show 90 % results on
what
WILL NOT work and over 70% results on what will work on individuals
cancer
cells.
Let us know how things go. If we can help, let us know.
Take care
Diana
