[MOL] Re: Malignant schwannoma

Dear Friends,

My nephew in china was recently diagnosed for malignant (intermediate
stage) schwannoma (nerve sheath tumor) on his shin (left lower leg). So far
metastasis has not been detected in his blood or other parts of the body.
The surgent in china performed radical excision on Oct. 17 on the tumor (10
cm in length) and the surrounding area as well as disinfecting the bone
that had been affected. However, his doctor and family in china are
currently seeking advises regarding post-operational treatments that may
lead to longer survival time. Do you know any patient with similar cancer
or any soft tissue sarcoma oncologist who may be able to provide some
information regarding: (1) what is the most widely used and effective
procedure for malignant schwannnoma in lower leg (shin) ? (2) what are the
most effective drugs available for chemotherapy of soft tissue sarcoma? or
what kind of radiation therapy would you suggest? (3) statistically, what's
the survival rate and survival time for radical excision/chemotherapy vs.
amputation of the leg. Any response to this message will be greatly and
deeply appreciated. Please respond directly to my E-mail address
(bwu@stressgen.com) with subject as replay to Bill Wu. Alternatively, you
can fax me at 250-744-2877, attention Bill Wu. Thank you very much for your
time and kindness.

Sincerely yours,
