I just finished reading an e-mail sent to mol-cancer@linux.kbt.com back
in Sept. of '95.
I have a sister with a high blood platelet count (1.1mil) who has been
diagnosed with ET. She is 35 and is taking hydria (sp?) for the last 6
months. At this point her physician has advised her to stop taking the
medication and has referred her to the Mayo Clinic. We (her family) are
trying desperately to find out any information on this disease (including
other people's experiences, research on new drugs and new treatments.)
If you have any information which you were able to obtain (possibly the
experimental drug, Anagrelide) where clinical trials are being done, or
physicians you would recommend please contact me.
I am sending this initial e-mail through a friend, my name is Nahid
Rastakhiz. My e-mail address is: nrastahe@co.san-diego.ca.us
please also send e-mail to aduggan@mail.sdsu.edu (I am unsure if my
e-mail address is working.)
This disease has created a great deal of stress on our family. Any
assistance you could give me and my sister would be greatly appreciated.
My phone number is 619-692-8402 (wk). I would like to speak to you if
possible. Please call collect. Or e-mail me asap.
Thank you very much.
