Neuroblastoma

I am looking for treatment options for my 5 year old son, who has been
diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma, currently in relapse. Initially
diagnosed in 1993, with the primary site being the para spinal sympathetic
chain, tumour attached to, but not arising from the left adrenal, with
mets to lymph nodes, boney lesions and 30 per cent marrow involvement.
Relapsed in Sept. 1995, with evidence of marrow involvement and a large
boney lesion in the skull. Currently being treated with high dose
cyclophosphamide (1 g per metre squared) and etoposide (750 mg given over
72 hr infusion) and G-CSF. He is approx. 17 kg in weight. Latest mIBG
scans indicate regression of disease with no evidence of neuroblastoma.
Most significant problem with this regimen has been myelosuppression, with
the platelet count being hardest hit. Last cycle of chemo was 7 weeks ago,
and platelet count remains at 25,000. Also neutropenic with an absolute
neutrophil count of 0.75, despite 29 days of G-CSF following chemo at a
dose of 90 ug/day. My son's name is Matthew and he is my entire life.
Please, if you know of any treatments or doctors that may have information
or specialize in this childhood cancer, contact me via email at
dhodder@nfld.com

I appreciate your help. I assure you, so does my little boy.
