In September '93 I had a 4 centimeter moderately well differentiated
squamous carcinoma resected in an upper right lobectomy. The stage was
T2N0M0. No radiation or chemo. No recurrences. Doctors consider this
tumour controlled, but want me back every 6 months for X-ray and check-up to
look for second primary lung cancers. What kind of cancers appear in this
case? Does small cell cancer occur? I stopped smoking before the surgery
in '93.
I have posted this request for statistics and information in several areas
of the internet and have had zilch professional response. This is beginning
to be a mystery in itself. There has got to be a database somewhere that
has this information especially with the mundane frequency of lung cancer.
Even though only 9 to 12% of patients have a bright prognosis like mine that
should make up a substantial number of people; at least enough to build some
statistical projections on. Thanks to whomever takes this on.
