Welcome to the list Mike. You didn't give us much to go on except
"inoperable." I was diagnosed in Sept. '95 with Hepatocellular Carcinoma
(Hepatoma) and told by my GI doc to enjoy what time I had left - 2 to 6
months. The NCI literature is even more depressing. I had cryosurgery last
month and was declared cancer free when I left the hospital. There are many
many details I'd be glad to share with you as well as the results of
exhaustive research I did on the net and other sources. Even if you have
multiple tumors cryosurgery can be used in many cases to make the condition
operable conventionally. There are several options to consider but it is
important to act quickly as HCC is a fast growing cancer. Do you know what
stage your cancer is - is it unifocal (one tumor) or multicentric - what
are the measurements of your tomor(s) - why is it considered inoperable -
is it near or around an artery or bile ducts - is it complicated by
cirrhosis or hepatitis - have you had a second AND a third opinion -
cryosurgery to the liver is new and is not available in all parts of the
country yet, some doctors are not even aware of it - how is your health
otherwise? These things are all important to know to point in the right
direction.Let me assure you that you are in the right place on the list -
